The Baltimore Ravens need a huge offseason to return to their winning ways in 2026. The new era after hiring Jesse Minter as head coach is set to take off, and they need drastic improvements to not only rebuild themselves into playoff form but also to scale that playoff mountain.

As it is with every offseason in Baltimore, the draft will be possibly the most essential piece to reloading and rebuilding. The 2026 NFL Draft is a bit weaker than usual, but with 11 picks this year, the Ravens will have plenty of opportunities to add key pieces and iron out the roster nicely heading into the 2026 season.

With the NFL Combine coming up, the hype around prospects has started to grow significantly. FanSided’s Cody Williams recently constructed a three-round mock draft, and he has the Ravens coming out with a solid haul. In the first round, he gave them USC wide receiver Makai Lemon, in the second round, he mocked Georgia defensive lineman Christen Miller, and his third-round pick might be the best fit of the three selections: Baylor tight end Michael Trigg.

After extending tight end Mark Andrews back in December, the Ravens could be losing some talented tight ends in free agency, in Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar. Trigg seems like the perfect player to slide into that TE2 role, with a focus on producing both now and in the future.

Ravens could have an ideal draft fit in Michael Trigg

The Ravens may value tight ends more than any other team in the NFL. It feels like, since they were introduced to the league in 1996, they’ve incorporated tight ends heavily into their offense. That production from the tight end group was huge in the Joe Flacco era and has continued during the years with Lamar Jackson under center. Trigg would have a huge chance to thrive in Charm City.

By all accounts, it sounds like Isaiah Likely is leaning closer and closer to leaving in the coming months. Trigg feels like the ideal replacement for him. They’re similar players, and while Declan Doyle will take over as offensive coordinator, it’s been proven that a Likely type of target has been a money connection with Jackson.

At 6-foot-4, Trigg is a nightmare matchup. He possesses really good athleticism for his size and has an absurd catch radius that allows him to make highlight reel plays. His ability as a field stretcher and dominant red zone target would present an easy transition to replace the role Likely held in Baltimore’s offense over the last four seasons.

There are some risks to Trigg’s game. He’s rather underdeveloped as a route runner and blocker, but his overwhelming frame could overshadow the struggles in those departments. He’d also be given time to develop behind Mark Andrews, who is now under contract with the Ravens through the 2028 season.

Overall, Trigg is a high-upside pick. Tight end isn’t one of Baltimore’s biggest needs right now, but general manager Eric DeCosta has shown across his career that he’ll gladly pounce on talent over need. That's especially been true in the later rounds. Trigg could be one of those guys he looks to add on Day 2.
