Maybe look elsewhere.

The 2025 NFL Draft has been filled with surprises. Whether it’s been surprising picks that some deem as reaches, blockbuster trades, or highly touted prospects falling into the second round, it’s been a spectacle to watch.

The Baltimore Ravens drafted Malaki Starks at 27, a player that most draft analysts believed to be a top 20 player in this year’s draft.

With their next pick at 59 and some shocking names still on the board, there will still be some great players available when they're back on the clock. One of these draft fallers is Luther Burden, a wide receiver from Missouri. And Baltimore shouldn't draft him.

The Ravens must refrain from drafting Missouri WR Luther Burden

This isn't to say Burden isn't worth the pick. He is one of the most talented wide receivers in this year’s draft. He shined in his time at Missouri, especially during his sophomore season, amassing 1,212 yards on 86 receptions and nine touchdowns. He has first-round talent, but there are various reasons why the Ravens should stay away from him, even if he does make it to 59.

Burden’s main concern is his clashing with teammates. Reports are that scouts and draft analysts believe the 21-year-old struggles with his emotions. Burden has had some difficulty with letting them get the best of him, getting into skirmishes with teammates during games.

Futhermore, wide receiver is also not a top need for the Ravens. While they love going with the best player available, the weapons already sitting in the team’s locker room may take the position off the board, at least through the first three rounds.

Zay Flowers impressed in his second year—the sky is the limit for the Boston College product, Rashod Bateman is continuing to improve and had a career year in 2024, and the duo of Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely at tight end is one of the most feared in the league. Not to mention Baltimore’s dominant rushing attack is the bread and butter of the offense.

If the former Missouri Tiger does manage to slip to the Ravens at 59, it would be a steal, no doubt. He's an uber-talented player who could do very well in this league. However, he's unfortunately just not what the team needs. With such a valuable draft pick, it’s crucial to fill out other needs like pass rusher and the trenches on both sides of the football before splurging on a position they're filled to the brim with.
