The Baltimore Ravens need a total revamp this offseason. After a disastrous 2025 campaign, countless cracks appeared. A ton of that had to do with the coaching staff, but the front office is already resolving those problems. They hired Jesse Minter, and he is already building a strong coaching staff.
Still, the roster needs to be reconstructed. There are obviously centerpieces like Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, and Kyle Hamilton already in place, but they need significant additions. A strong emphasis needs to be placed on the offensive and defensive line, as well as the secondary.
The pass rush is the most crucial need. The Ravens didn’t have a single player close to tallying double-digit sacks last year, and the unit only totaled 30 sacks. They need a superstar off the edge. Thankfully, there might be just the player they need available this offseason.
Ravens must trade for Maxx Crosby this offseason
Tempers flared between Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby and the organization toward the end of the 2025 season. A disagreement regarding whether he could play through his knee injury sparked issues between the two parties. Of course, trade rumors have followed.
A few weeks into the offseason, and those trade rumors are still alive. Joel Corry of CBS Sports recently constructed a list of 15 players who could be released or traded this offseason, and Crosby was among those listed. Corry wrote:
“In order for a trade to occur, Crosby will likely have to force Raiders owner Mark Davis' hand. The Raiders briefly made Crosby the NFL's highest-paid non-quarterback last March with a three-year, $106.5 million contract extension, averaging $35.5 million, although he had two years remaining on his existing contract. The deal has $91.5 million in guarantees, of which $62.5 million was fully guaranteed at signing. There are four years worth $116.058 million left on Crosby's contract.”
The Ravens have struggled to find a superstar pass rusher. They’ve gotten by with veteran outside linebackers like Kyle Van Noy and Jadeveon Clowney in years past, but they’ve lacked elite talent. Teams need a competitive pass rush to compete for Super Bowls. Crosby would push Baltimore over the edge in that facet.
In seven seasons, Crosby has earned five Pro Bowl nods and two All-Pro second-team honors. He has notched 10 sacks in a season four times and has 69.5 career sacks. He’s been a game-wrecker since the moment he stepped into the NFL.
If the Ravens were to acquire him, Crosby would likely blossom under Minter’s defensive scheme. His defenses with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2024 and 2025 both ranked near the top of the league in sacks. A potential pairing between him and Crosby would feel as dangerous as any coach-player duo the NFL has to offer.
