The Baltimore Ravens will have to make some harsh decisions this offseason. After an ugly 2025 campaign, the team needs a complete revamp. They already made the toughest decision of all, parting ways with 18-year head coach John Harbaugh.

Since hiring Jesse Minter to replace Harbaugh, it’s clear the Ravens are entering a new era. They’ve brought in a ton of young talent to the coaching staff, most recently with the hiring of offensive coordinator Declan Doyle. They are entering a youth movement in that area.

With so many new faces entering the building, there could be plenty of roster turnover in the coming months. They already have a stacked class of free agents set to leave this offseason, but several players currently under contract could be out the door, too.

Cornerback Marlon Humphrey is one starter who could be shown the door in the coming months. After an All-Pro season in 2024, he had the worst year of his career in 2025. At 29 years old and holding a hefty contract, Baltimore’s front office could look to ditch that contract to free up money.

Former sports agent Joel Corry recently released an article on CBS Sports naming 15 players that could be traded or released in the 2026 offseason. Humphrey was among those listed. Corry wrote:

“He was on the wrong end of too many big plays this season. According to Pro Football Focus, the 916 yards Humphrey allowed in coverage were the most in his nine-year NFL career. Humphrey has 2026's third highest cap number for a cornerback.”

Ravens could free up money with Marlon Humphrey move

Corry highlighted that by trading or cutting Humphrey with a post-June 1 designation, the Ravens would see $19.25 million in cap savings and $7.026 million in dead money in 2026.

Baltimore has work to do this offseason on the extension front. Their most notable free agent is center Tyler Linderbaum, who will demand a hefty salary. Other starters and depth pieces like cornerback Chidobe Awuzie, edge rusher Dre’Mont Jones, and tight end Charlie Kolar are contributors General Manager Eric DeCosta should look to bring back. With all that money being thrown around, trading or releasing Humphrey could provide a lot more flexibility.

It could be smart to retain Humphrey for now, though. While 2025 was horrendous for him, it was a year in which he dealt with injuries. He was a top corner just a year ago, and given the Ravens’ need for cornerback help, they may want to keep Humphrey for at least one more year.
