The Baltimore Ravens have a choice to make. They can pack it in, chalk this season up to bad injury luck and missed opportunities, and give it another go in 2026. Or they can double down on the elite roster that they've built for the here and now, stay aggressive, and push for the championship that fans expected coming into the year.

Time is running out to choose a direction. If they elect to stay competitive this year, one risky trade could be the key to getting back on track. Seattle Seahawks cornerback Tariq Woolen could be available for trade if recent rumors are true. While he's been inconsistent in 2025, the former rookie standout is worth the risk for a team as desperate as the Ravens.

After pouring so much into this roster over the last few years, Baltimore can't afford to waste a season. It's time to push the chips into the center of the table.

Ravens could take a big trade risk with Riq Woolen

As the NFL season presses on, trade rumors are heating up. Many teams are set to become either buyers or sellers at the trade deadline after watching their performance over the first portion of the year. NFL Spin Zone's Sayre Bedinger recently put together a ranking of players potentially on the market, including landing spots for each name. He had the Ravens listed as a potential Suitor for Woolen.

Bedinger wrote, "There have been some rumors swirling about Tariq Woolen possibly being traded by the Seahawks, so we're just going to throw him on the list in case anything materializes. It would be a bit of a shocker to see a player with his history of ball production be moved, especially at his age, but you never know in the NFL."

Baltimore's secondary is already falling apart. Injuries to Marlon Humphrey and Chidobe Awuzie have the cornerback room on its last legs, allowing opposing quarterbacks to pick the unit apart. What was expected to be the calling card of an elite defense has quickly become a liability.

Even when the starters return to the field, the Ravens could use some added depth at cornerback. Woolen, while currently recovering from a concussion, could provide the cover that this team needs.

After an impressive rookie campaign in which he recorded six interceptions and made a strong case for Defensive Rookie of the Year, the uber-athletic cornerback has struggled to find consistency over the last few seasons. The ball production has remained, but he continues to have lapses in coverage that are causing Seattle's patience to wear thin. In recent weeks, rumors have spread that he could be available for trade.

If the rumors are true, the Ravens should at least check in with the Seahawks on the asking price. Woolen, at his best, is the exact kind of player who could help vault this team back into contention.
