The Baltimore Ravens have seen a ton of movement inside the AFC North, as Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns changed their head coaches. The Ravens also did the same and the division should be a fight once again in 2026.
The Cleveland Browns had a 10 player rookie draft class, which included Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green in the sixth round. They had their rookie minicamp take place last week and Green expressed that he doesn't think any quarterback in the league compares to him. He even named Lamar Jackson but pumped the brakes on that comparison.
"I would say of course Lamar (Jackson), but he ain't 6-[foot-]6. Josh Allen is close, but I'm 230. He's like 260. My dad says Randall Cunningham-ish. I really don't think there's anybody like me. Not in a like cocky [way] or anything, just some confidence. There's nobody that moves like me, that's as tall as me," Green said.
Browns QB Taylen Green doesn't think Lamar Jackson compares to him
Green ran a blazing 4.36 40-yard dash, with a 43" vertical jump, which caught the attention of the NFL. But despite the athletic traits, he needs a lot of work as a passer. Over the last two seasons, he has also committed 37 turnovers. That's without mentioning, he entering a quarterback room with Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders, and Dillon Gabriel.
And while Green didn't mean any disrespect with him statement, it would be an honor to compared to Jackson. Similarly, when Jackson came into the NFL, there were questions on whether he could be an NFL quarterback. Yet, he answered the call with flying colors.
In 116 games with Baltimore, he has completed 64.8% for 22,608 passing yards, and 187 passing touchdowns. On the ground, he's added 6,522 rushing yards and 35 touchdowns. That electric career has seen Jackson become a two-time MVP and three-time First-Team All-Pro.
He's one of the best quarterbacks in the league and that's why Green's comments will get a laugh out of Ravens fans. Jackson is listed at 6'2", 205 pounds, while Green is 6'6" and 228 pounds. They do have different body types but both have shown they aren't afraid to pick up yards their legs when needed.
Jackson was a far better thrower when coming out of college, which helped him start down the stretch in 2018. And the rest is history, as he's constantly improved in the NFL. If Green wants a long career in the NFL, he would be wise to pick up some tips from Jackson, as he's one of the best and most dynamic quarterbacks in the NFL. If not, it could be a rough go in the league and that will also make Ravens fans happy to see their rival struggle with yet another quarterback.
