The Baltimore Ravens spent a third-round pick on USC wide receiver Ja'Kobi Lane, whom they have high hopes for. Just two years ago, Lane found the end zone 12 times for the Trojans, and this past year, he tallied over 740 yards receiving.

Someone who is all too familiar with Lane's game is also a name that Ravens fans will know, as Todd Heap used to coach Lane in high school. He spoke about Lane during an appearance on The Lounge Podcast and offered insights as to what Ravens fans should expect from their newest weapon.

"Ja'Kobi is a great kid. I mean, he's just a fun, young, fun loving guy. I've known him since he's about 13 years old, and he's been making plays since long before then," Heap said. "When he's on the field, there's nobody that works harder... He made some of the most spectacular catches you've ever seen. I mean, some catches where you're like, there's no way he caught that. You know, his hand backwards, falling backwards, getting tackled in the back of the end zone, you know, low to the ground. And he comes up with the ball and you're just like, oh, my goodness, there's not many people that can do that."

Ravens fans will love what Todd Heap revealed about Ja'Kobi Lane

Lane joins a wide receiver room that consists of Rashod Bateman, Zay Flowers, and Devontez Walker as the top weapons. Lane could push Walker for the final starting spot, but he'll also have rookie fourth-round pick Elijah Sarratt to compete with.

If what Heap is saying is any indication, however, Lane should work his way up the depth chart in no time. He'll have a talented quarterback throwing him the football and he's shown he has the chops to be a star at the position.

It's pretty cool that Heap coached Lane in high school, and now, Lane will play for the same NFL team that his high school coach spent the majority of his pro career with. Hopefully, Lane's Ravens career goes just as well as Heaps' Ravens career.
