Ravens fans were just given reason to ignore the narrative around Jordyn Tyson

The Baltimore Ravens have interest in wide receiver prospect Jordyn Tyson, and a recent admission by his college head coach should increase that interest.

One of the most polarizing players in the 2026 NFL Draft is wide receiver Jordyn Tyson. The talented wideout could go as early as the top five, or he could slide into the 20s. If Tyson does slide outside of the top 10, the Baltimore Ravens are believed to be a team who could stop his slide with the 14th-overall pick.

The big concern surrounding Tyson is his health, but recently, another critique has emerged. Multiple draft analysts have questioned the wideout’s toughness. That could certainly be alarming for the Ravens, who play in an AFC North that’s built on toughness. However, according to Tyson’s college coach, interested teams have nothing to worry about as far as toughness goes.

Kenny Dillingham, the head coach of Arizona State, was recently asked about Tyson’s toughness and durability, and he emphasized that the receiver didn’t miss practice during his time at ASU. To highlight how tough Tyson is, Dillingham revealed that the receiver played a game with stitches in his hand, and the world didn’t even know. Ultimately, the head coach said Tyson is a football player you want to have on your team, and he’s going to be the face of an organization.

ASU coach Kenny Dillingham says teams don’t have to worry about Jordyn Tyson’s toughness

Dillingham has a great relationship with Tyson, so it’s no surprise that he’s defending his reputation. Additionally, Tyson’s wide receiver coach at ASU was Pittsburgh Steelers great Hines Ward, and even Ravens fans can admit it doesn’t get much tougher than Ward at receiver. While both coaches vouch for Tyson, all they are doing is sharing the truth and highlighting what Tyson’s tape shows.

The wide receiver posted 10 receptions for 105 yards and one touchdown against an elite Texas Tech defense, while visibly dealing with a hamstring injury. You don’t do that without being tough. Tyson also suffered a torn ACL, MCL, and PCL in 2022, a broken collarbone in 2024, and a hamstring injury in 2025, but still found a way to make a case to be the best receiver prospect in the 2026 Draft. That takes toughness.

So while these seemingly baseless reports come out during draft season, fans of interested teams like the Ravens have reason to be concerned about Jordyn Tyson’s health, but they shouldn’t question his toughness.
