The Baltimore Ravens need all hands on deck entering Week 15. They have a must-win contest against the Cincinnati Bengals awaiting them at 1 pm. Both teams are desperately fighting for their playoff lives, as they try to claw ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers for first place in the AFC North.

In the week leading up to Sunday’s game, the Ravens were relatively healthy. They will see the return of key defenders, outside linebacker Tavius Robinson and safety Ar’Darius Washington. Quarterback Lamar Jackson also made it through the practice week without any injuries, and electric running back Keaton Mitchell avoided an injury scare.

They will be missing a couple of the usual faces in Cincinnati, though. Wide receiver Rashod Bateman is out with an ankle sprain, and cornerback Keyon Martin was among those listed as a healthy scratch. The others are your typical inactives.

The rest of the list offers no surprises. Quarterback Cooper Rush lost his backup role to Tyler Huntley in the middle of the season and will continue to serve as the team’s emergency third quarterback. Offensive tackle Joe Noteboom will ride the bench in this one, giving an active spot to rookie offensive tackle Carson Vinson. Defensive tackle Aeneas Peebles, despite the uproar from fans to give him playing time, is scratched for his eighth game.

Head Coach John Harbaugh remained optimistic about the possibility of Bateman playing, but given the rough weather conditions, the smart thing to do is to let him recover from his ankle sprain. A focus should be put on running the football, so the Ravens should not miss Bateman too much. Expect veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to see increased targets, and rising wideout Devontez Walker to also capitalize on a bigger role.

Making Martin inactive comes as a bit of a shock. The undrafted rookie has been making a strong impression on the coaching staff from the get-go. He has played in 12 games out of the 13 games this year, only missing Baltimore’s Week 12 contest with a rib injury. He did not pop up the injury report this week, making Sunday his first healthy scratch.
