The Baltimore Ravens are already building themselves a formidable coaching staff. After hiring new head coach Jesse Minter in January, the 42-year-old had his work cut out for him. He still does. However, not even a month into his tenure, he has brought in an impressive cast of coaches.
It feels like every coaching hire Minter has made thus far has been a hit. The team’s offensive and defensive coordinators, Declan Doyle and Anthony Weaver, are rising stars on the coaching front, and the hiring of offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford has fans excited, too. With hires like those, Minter is undoubtedly making a name for himself early in the offseason…and he’s far from done.
On Tuesday, the Ravens made a move to bring in Eddie Faulkner to be their running backs coach. What makes this so sweet: Faulkner comes over from the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he has been coaching since 2019. Now, he’ll trade in the black and yellow for the black and purple.
After seven years with the Steelers, running backs coach Eddie Faulkner is expected to take the same job with the AFC North rival Ravens, per sources.

Ravens rushing attack stays afloat as Jesse Minter adds Eddie Faulkner to staff
Faulkner is set to replace Willie Taggart, who followed John Harbaugh to the New York Giants earlier this offseason. Taggart was Baltimore’s running backs coach from 2023 to 2025, and did a good job in that role. Thankfully, Minter replaces him with a proven veteran in Faulkner.
Faulkner has done a tremendous job with running back development over the past several seasons. He helped running back Najee Harris produce four straight seasons of 1,000-plus yards during his Pittsburgh tenure (2021-2024). 2022 undrafted free agent Jaylen Warren has also turned into a quality player under Faulkner’s guidance, developing into a dangerous, versatile running back. Kenneth Gainwell also had a career year in 2025, totaling over 1,000 all-purpose yards and building an exceptional duo between him and Warren.
If that promising development isn’t enough to convince people that Faulkner is the right person for the job, his experience certainly will. Along with seven seasons as Pittsburgh’s running backs coach, the 48-year-old has held playcalling duties. He was the team’s interim offensive coordinator in 2023 after they fired Matt Canada following a Week 11 loss.
This move should definitely have Ravens running backs Derrick Henry and Keaton Mitchell celebrating. In 2025, Baltimore endured nagging struggles when it came to establishing a true duo between the two rushers consistently. However, Faulkner comes from a place that just had one of the better running back duos in the NFL last year. His ability to have his players produce both through the air and on the ground should also have fans breathing a sigh of relief.
Hopefully, we finally see Henry and Mitchell shine in the way all fans know they can under Faulkner in 2026.
