The Baltimore Ravens improved to 5-5 on Sunday, defeating the Cleveland Browns, 23-16. While the defense played its best game of the season, it was an insanely sloppy day from the offense that has endured a tough stretch as of late.
Quarterback Lamar Jackson had his worst start of the year, but it was far from his fault. Sure, he missed some throws and two interceptions never look good on the stat sheet, but the horrific offensive line play was at the forefront of Baltimore’s struggles that day.
The Ravens’ offensive front had no answer for Cleveland’s All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett, who had four sacks. As a group, it was a poor showing, but right guard Daniel Faalele had perhaps the worst game of his career.
According to Pro Football Focus, Faalele ranked at the bottom of Baltimore’s offense in Week 11 with a 46.8 overall grade, including a 26.2 pass blocking grade and 54.7 run blocking grade.
Despite the abysmal showing, it sounds like Faalele’s job is still safe.
John Harbaugh provides the offensive line update that no fan wanted
During Monday’s press conference, Head Coach John Harbaugh was asked about the status of the offensive line following Sunday’s horror show. His response has fans bracing for disaster moving forward.
“You put the best five players out there, the five guys who are playing the best,” Harbaugh said. “Yeah, we're putting the best five players out there, and they're playing pretty darn good. Can they play better? Sure…We put our best group out there and we fight.”
When it comes to backup options, Ben Cleveland, Corey Bullock, and Emery Jones Jr. are those available to fill in for Faalele if a change is made. In Cleveland’s case, the Ravens know what to expect from the veteran, and it is not crazy to believe that Faalele is still the better player. For Bullock and Jones, they are both young players looking to make their name known, especially for Jones, who is just coming back from a labrum injury.
However, at some point, you have to try something different. Yes, the team is on a four-game win streak, but the offense has stalled out recently. The passing attack has taken a hit due to the lack of protection for Jackson, and the rushing attack has shown inconsistency running in between the tackles, especially in red zone situations. Left guard Andrew Vorhees has made improvements, but Faalele has not.
This is one of his worst moments from Week 11.

That play showcases the same mistakes the 26-year-old has been making all year, and it has been a thorn in the offense’s side since Baltimore’s Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Jones may be the team’s last hope to improve the play at guard. The 2025 third-round pick was activated to the 53-man roster in late October and may be inching closer to joining the action, but Harbaugh’s answer does not give too much hope for the future.
The offensive line is likely not strong enough to contend for a Super Bowl in 2025, but until the problems up front prove to be too much, it sounds like Harbaugh will continue rolling with the same starting group.
