NFL training camp is here. For the Baltimore Ravens, it’s a long-awaited return to the field after a horrendous 2025 campaign. They’ll be using this opportunity to check every box possible ahead of a pivotal 2026.
While the coming months will provide exciting roster battles, the harsh reality is teams will be thrown for inevitable loops. A part of that is injuries, and the Carolina Panthers were victims of that truth as second-year edge rusher Nic Scourton tore his ACL on the first day of camp.
Amid that news, the Panthers are likely hunting for pass rush help. It’s never too late to swing a big trade for a front-line starter, but at this point, it’s more probable that they go bargain-bin hunting to stabilize their depth. The Ravens could hold the answer to that search.
Baltimore Ravens might have low-cost answer to Carolina Panthers’ new pass rush need in Adisa Isaac
At the moment, Baltimore has their top five pass rushers ready to snatch up spots on their 53-man roster. Those appear to be Trey Hendrickson, Mike Green, Zion Young, Tavius Robinson, and Adisa Isaac. One man sticks out like a sore thumb in that group, though, and he may be a guy that the Ravens look to move. Adisa Isaac.
Isaac’s career has been rough up to this point. Injuries have, and still are, derailing almost every chance he has at proving himself. Unfortunately, even when he has been on the field, it’s been lackluster.
Isaac was drafted in the third round just two years ago, though, and the Panthers probably find themselves in a spot where they’re just looking for depth. Isaac would be a low-risk trade to swing for, banking on potential upside. If it doesn’t work out, then cool, Scourton will be back in 2027. However, if it does pay out, the Panthers pass rush room would get deeper.
Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta wouldn’t be asking for a lot either. There’s no way Isaac would cost much more than a late-round pick swap, so it may actually be a flier worth taking if you’re Carolina.
If the Panthers want to dream bigger, then they could try to shoot for Tavius Robinson. With Baltimore drafting Zion Young in the 2026 NFL Draft, they have their versatile run defender for the future. That offer for Robinson would have to be an overpay, though, and even then, I doubt DeCosta would let anyone pry the 27-year-old out of his hands.
Of course, the Ravens would only move one of their pass rushers if they had a corresponding move up their sleeves. If an Isaac trade goes down, Jadeveon Clowney could make sense as a free agent target, or even Kyle Van Noy, who has made it known he’s looking to play in 2026 and is interested in a Baltimore return.
Or, the third option, a guy like Kaimon Rucker, is trusted as an Isaac replacement. Which, in all honesty, isn’t that bad of an idea considering Isaac has done next to nothing in his two-year NFL career.
Ultimately, Isaac really needs a change of scenery. Due to the Scourton news, the Panthers could pose as a good landing spot for him to get his feet off the ground.Â
Isaac isn’t the most desirable trade candidate, and Carolina did sign Cam Gill to provide extra depth in training camp, but if their front office gets desperate, it might make some sense to gamble on any upside that might remain with Isaac.
