The Baltimore Ravens have entered an offseason of change, and it started with the team’s decision to move on from longtime coach John Harbaugh. With Baltimore now searching for a new head coach, it seems like a safe bet that Zach Orr’s time as defensive coordinator is done, but question marks still surround the future of offensive coordinator Todd Monken.

Monken has currently been interviewing for open head coach positions, but it’s fair to say there could be a path where he returns to the team as offensive coordinator under a new head coach. While Ravens fans could have been sold on that idea, they now have their eyes on another offensive mind. The Miami Dolphins fired Mike McDaniel on Thursday, and a lot of fans would love to see him in Baltimore.

Ravens fans would love to land former Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel

McDaniel appeared to be apart of Miami’s future, as he was involved in the Dolphins’ search for a general manager just a few days ago. However, Miami has since decided to let him go, injecting hope in fan bases throughout the league, that would love to have the offensive genius calling plays for their offense.

Baltimore is certainly one of those fan bases, as fans are already thinking about how the franchise couid secure him. With a head coach vacancy, McDaniel could get that position, but the most popular dream seems to be McDaniel as an offensive coordinator, paired with a defensive-minded head coaching candidate like Brian Flores or Robert Saleh.

Whatever the path, McDaniel scheming up Baltimore’s offense would be a dream for the Ravens and a nightmare for the rest of the league. The Ravens already have Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, two Hall of Famers, and placing them in a McDaniel offense that is built around the run would surely lead to big numbers. If he can be paired with a coach on the defensive side of the ball who can get the Baltimore defense to live up to its history, the Ravens will return to being one of the best teams in the league, and will be right back in the mix for a Super Bowl.
