The Baltimore Ravens’ offensive line makeover is complete. It took one offseason to fix one of their biggest flaws in 2025. They signed Ethan Pocic to a one-year deal worth up to $4.5 million on Friday to finalize that overhaul.

Pocic brings experience to Baltimore; something that this team didn’t have after Tyler Linderbaum departed in free agency. It once looked like it was going to be a battle between Danny Pinter, Jovaughn Gwyn, and Corey Bullock for the starting gig in Week 1. Thankfully, it appears that Pocic is taking over.

To be fair, Pocic is coming off an Achilles tear, so you might want to temper your expectations if you’re a Ravens fan. However, the signing still fills the last need remaining on the offensive line. First, they solved the guard spot with John Simpson and Vega Ioane. Now, finally, it’s Pocic at center.

After what the offense went through last year, there’s no question why the team went through endless efforts to improve the protection up front. The guard spot saw early solutions and brought a ton of excitement, but fans had serious doubts after Linderbaum became a Las Vegas Raider.

Thankfully, Pocic was still sitting on the market. Once it was revealed he was ready for training camp, Baltimore immediately became the obvious landing spot for him. They moved with urgency to get him, and it could pay off in a big way.

There is a world where Pocic disappoints. He has nine years of experience under his belt, but that could be a blessing and a curse. Baltimore is glad to have his sturdy play and his 97 career starts in their offensive line room; however, each of those reps also takes a toll on the body. At 30 years old and in the midst of an Achilles recovery, there’s no telling what he’ll look like by the time he suits up.

Despite that question surrounding Pocic, a new and improved offensive guard duo will help him rebound from injury smoothly. Baltimore signing Simpson and drafting Ioane were huge moves, and it’ll look like a complete 180 going from Daniel Faalele and Andrew Vorhees starting to those two. Sure, it’s a bit of an unknown how good Simpson will look and if Ioane can start hot in his rookie campaign, but the rebuild at that position is immense.

Then, at tackle, there’s not much to worry about there. Ronnie Stanley should continue to do a fine job on the left side, while as for Roger Rosengarten, he sounds ready to make a third-year leap.

It’s truly just a different feeling now in Charm City as we move toward training camp. There might still be some slight uncertainty along the offensive front, but they should be pretty solid at the worst. At the best? They could be one of the better groups in football. It’s a major breath of fresh air.
