The Baltimore Ravens did it. After months of rumors surrounding Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby, it was the Ravens who would pull off the trade for the five-time Pro Bowler.

What a move. The Raiders got themselves a haul, as Baltimore dealt two first-round picks (2026 and 2027) to acquire Crosby, but it was a move that general manager Eric DeCosta had to make. After such an abysmal year on defense, they needed a game-changer, and Crosby is just that.

It’s clearly an all-in move. The Ravens are looking to bounce back from an 8-9 season in 2025, where they fell short of the playoffs. Now, they get one of the league’s best pass rushers to revamp their team and prepare to make a Super Bowl run in 2026.

Baltimore Ravens land Maxx Crosby in ultra-aggressive move

In 2025, the Ravens had just 30 sacks. It was one of the leading factors in their demise last season. With Crosby in the building now, they shouldn’t have to worry about that lack of pressure. They got themselves a consistent threat. He’s been doing it for the past seven years.

Crosby has 69.5 career sacks and has totaled at least 10 sacks in four of his seven seasons. He has earned five Pro Bowl nods and has been named a Second-Team All-Pro twice. He’s the type of player that the Ravens haven’t had since Terrell Suggs.

Entering this offseason, the biggest question was who would be rushing the passer. Outside linebackers Mike Green and Tavius Robinson were the only two factors off the edge currently under contract, but now, that completely changes. Crosby is here, and he’s here to help push Baltimore over the playoff hump.

By acquiring Crosby, the Ravens take on a $30 million salary for the 2026 season. It’s a nice team-friendly deal given his production, and he ranks behind five other pass rushers in terms of salary. He is also under contract through the 2029 season, giving Baltimore a bright future for the heavy trade package they parted with.

After hiring Jesse Minter, it was clear that the Ravens would be aggressive this offseason, especially on defense. The stunning trade for Crosby is exactly that: aggressive.
