Following another victory in Week 12, the Baltimore Ravens find themselves soaring to the top of the AFC North. Their win over the New York Jets was another ugly win, but they got it done, and will enter their Week 13 matchup with a 6-5 record.
Just as it has throughout the team’s five-game winning streak, the defense propelled Baltimore to the win. The offense was once again missing some firepower and was lackluster for most of the game, but made enough big plays to put together scoring drives and leave the game with the division lead.
The star of the game may not have been on either the offensive or defensive side, though. Head Coach John Harbaugh always puts together an elite special teams unit, and while the group has been lackluster in recent years, they are firing on all cylinders in 2025. The engine of it all? Punter Jordan Stout.
Jordan Stout continues to power the Ravens to wins
Stout is having a breakout year in his fourth NFL season. After three lackluster years filled with inconsistency, Stout has it all figured out now. He is enjoying a career year and had perhaps the best game of his career against the Jets.
The former Penn State standout showed off his cannon of a leg on Sunday. He tied a franchise record for longest punt, unleashing a 74-yard boot early in the second quarter. That was not the only booming kick of his day, as he finished with an unbelievable 61.5 average yards per punt. He also pinned one inside the five-yard line.

Following the game, Stout spoke to the media about how he is feeling during this recent hot streak.
“I’m just happy that I’m helping,” Stout said. “When the defense stops them, and I feel like it’s because of me, and guys are coming up to me like, ‘Hey, that was you,’ it means so much. That’s what makes you love the game, it’s what makes me love punting.”
Stout has been doing this all season. On 38 punts, he is averaging 51.4 yards per punt, which ranks second in the NFL. He is also dropping 47.4% of his punts inside the 20-yard line, a mark that places him seventh in the league.
This comes at the perfect time for Stout, as he is an unrestricted free agent following the 2025 campaign. He is one of Baltimore’s many key stars expected to hit the open market in 2026, but given his position, it should be easy to retain the 27-year-old in Charm City.
Stout has quickly become a significant part of the Ravens’ recent success, and General Manager Eric DeCosta should make the easy call to extend him as soon as possible.
