The Baltimore Ravens aren't done re-signing their free agents. According to Jeff Zrebiec, the Ravens and wide receiver Tylan Wallace have agreed to a one-year contract worth $2.25 million.
Wallace, a former fourth-round pick, has spent the past four seasons in Baltimore, carving out a role as a reliable special teamer and occasional big-play threat. While his offensive opportunities have been limited, Wallace has made the most of them—when the Ravens call his number, he tends to deliver in dramatic fashion.
Bringing him back also provides some clarity to the team’s return game. With Deonte Harty hitting free agency, Wallace could be the go-to returner moving forward. That’s a role he’s already proven himself in, and now he gets another chance to solidify his spot.
Ravens re-sign WR/ST Tylan Wallace to one-year deal
Wallace’s offensive numbers won’t jump off the page—he finished last season with just 11 catches for 193 yards and a touchdown—but his impact goes far beyond the stat sheet. He’s been one of the Ravens’ most clutch performers in recent years and is a clear fan-favorite.
Case in point: last season’s 84-yard touchdown against the Bengals. With Baltimore trailing in a must-win division game, Wallace caught a short pass from Lamar Jackson, tiptoed the sideline, and somehow stayed in bounds for a game-changing score.
The moment was so electric that Zay Flowers couldn’t help but yell out, “He allergic to the sideline!”—a phrase that immediately became legendary.
And if that wasn’t enough, Wallace already had his big moment the year before. In 2023, he won the Ravens an overtime thriller against the Los Angeles Rams with a walk-off 76-yard punt return touchdown. Not bad for a guy who rarely sees the field on offense.
Wallace’s new deal is a deserved one. He’s a core special teamer, a reliable depth receiver, and a player who has come up big when his number's called. Wallace will likely remain WR5 with a revamped receiver room led by Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, and new addition DeAndre Hopkins. But if history has shown anything, it’s that when Baltimore needs a play, Wallace finds a way.
This one-year deal could also be a “prove-it” year for Wallace.
If he takes another step forward as a returner and contributes a bit more consistently on offense, he could play his way into a longer stay in Baltimore. Either way, the Ravens know they have a guy they can count on when the game is on the line, and that's really cool. Good signing.
