The Baltimore Ravens will be on Sunday Night Football this week, traveling to Mercedes-Benz Stadium to take on the Atlanta Falcons. It’ll be the first time Baltimore steps into the primetime spotlight in the Jesse Minter era.
This one was bound to be a high-powered matchup. And it still could be. Unfortunately, Lamar Jackson is ruled out with an ankle injury, and Tyler Huntley is preparing for the start. It’s fair to assume we might not get the two explosive offenses going head-to-head.
Huntley can still win games, though. He has a lot on his plate to keep up with Atlanta, but talent is scattered throughout this Ravens team.
Here is everything you need to know for their Week 5 matchup.

Ravens vs. Falcons injury updates
Ravens
PLAYER | STATS |
|---|---|
Zay Flowers (foot) | QUESTIONABLE |
Marlon Humphrey (hamstring/calf) | QUESTIONABLE |
Andrew Vorhees (foot) | QUESTIONABLE |
Lamar Jackson (ankle) | OUT |
Trey Hendrickson (finger) | OUT |
Cam Jurgens (concussion) | OUT |
The Ravens will be without two of their superstars and another big piece to their offense. Lamar Jackson, Trey Hendrickson, and Cam Jurgens are out. These were all somewhat expected. Jurgens was confirmed out from the moment he was acquired; Jackson has yet to practice after injuring his ankle, and Hendrickson is still recovering from finger surgery.
Baltimore also has three key starters questionable. Zay Flowers was limited all week with a foot issue, Humphrey is dealing with both a hamstring and calf problem, and Vorhees is still dealing with the foot injury that took him out of Week 4. All three made progress in practice this week, but they’re not a guarantee to suit up.
Falcons
PLAYER | STATUS |
|---|---|
Jake Matthews (groin) | QUESTIONABLE |
Za'Darius Smith (concussion/neck) | QUESTIONABLE |
Divine Deablo (hamstring) | QUESTIONABLE |
Samson Ebukam (hamstring) | QUESTIONABLE |
Yasir Abdullah (hamstring) | OUT |
Four players are questionable for the Falcons, and they’re all starters. Atlanta’s long-trusted left tackle Jake Matthews has been dealing with a groin injury; however, he logged a full participation on Friday. He’s trending in the right direction.
The others on the injury report are defenders. Za’Darius Smith, Divine Deable, and Sam Ebukam are all questionable, while Yasir Abdullah is out. That’s four members of a talented front seven that has been elite in run defense in 2026.
If any of these guys are missing on Sunday night, some pressure could be eased off Baltimore’s shoulders.
Storylines to watch for Ravens in Week 5
Does Tyler Huntley have what it takes to outduel the Falcons?
Tyler Huntley will make his first start of 2026, and the 17th start of his career. He’s an experienced backup who is 7-9 in his career. He won two big games for the Ravens last year, and they’ll ask him to do it again in Week 5.
To win, Baltimore should lean on Derrick Henry heavily. That’s not to say Huntley won’t have a big role, though — he obviously will. The 28-year-old needs to lead a mistake-free brand of football, while ensuring the passing attack is dangerous to keep the defense guessing.
They can’t look one-dimensional. If Huntley struggles, Atlanta could have a field day against this team.
Jesse Minter’s first game in the national spotlight
Jesse Minter was one of, if not the top, head-coaching candidates this offseason. The Ravens got him, and now the whole NFL world will get to see what he’s all about. 8:20 p.m., NBC, Sunday Night Football. Everyone will be watching.
First-year head coaches can struggle in these high-pressure games. The record for first-years is below .500 in those games. Is Minter different, though?
Minter has led the Ravens to a 3-1 record to kick off 2026. It hasn’t been perfect — in fact, it’s been far from perfect. Still, the offensive and defensive schemes seem to be effective. There’s been too many plays where Minter dials up the perfect play call, just for the players to drop the ball.
They’ll have to come ready to turn the page on Sunday.
Ravens can’t let Bijan Robinson and Drake London get going
Bijan Robinson and Drake London have been two of the top weapons in 2026. Robinson is quite possibly the best running back in the NFL, and he could easily run all over Baltimore’s defense. As for London, he’s an ultra-dangerous contested-catch threat who gash defenses after the catch.
For the Ravens, it’ll be all about sealing the edge and bracketing London. If Robinson breaks out into the open field, he can make a house call from anywhere. If you cover London one-on-one, Michael Penix Jr. has shown he can put it where only his WR1 can catch it.
Baltimore can’t let them catch fire.
Prediction
Falcons 27, Ravens 21
I hate to doubt this team, but so many cards are against the Ravens. There’s the obvious glaring question with Tyler Huntley starting. However, even beyond him, they don’t match up well with the Falcons.
If you want to lean on Derrick Henry, the league-leading run defense is on the other side waiting. With terrible tackling issues, Robinson and London could run all over the defense.
Prove me wrong.
