The Baltimore Ravens vs. the New Orleans Saints. We’re already headed into Week 2 of the 2026 NFL season, and Ravens fans have plenty to be excited about. The Jesse Minter era got off to a perfect start with a blowout win in the season opener.

It’s time to keep that momentum going.

Sure, Baltimore has the more talented team, but Sunday could look very different. A few key players are out, others are listed as questionable, and weather conditions could make this a very weird game.

Ravens vs. Saints injury updates

Ravens

Well, that’s a lengthy injury report. This will be the biggest question mark for the Ravens. They may be leaning on their depth more than ever.

Teddye Buchanan, Nnamdi Madubuike, and T.J. Tampa were all trending toward being inactive coming into the week, and after re-aggravating a hamstring issue that plagued him in training camp, it’s not a shock that Zay Flowers was ruled out either.

Trey Hendrickson, John Simpson, and Ronnie Stanley are three must-have names on the field against the Saints, though. All of them made one appearance in practice this past week, and they were all limited participants. That’s not exactly a great sign.

On the other hand, maybe that’s a sign that they’re right on the verge of getting back on the field. Being veteran starters, they don’t necessarily need practice reps. The extra day or two of rest could do wonders.

If any of those three players are out, expect Mike Green, Andrew Vorhees, and Carson Vinson to take on bigger roles.

Saints

The Saints will go through a weird transition on special teams. Their long snapper, Zach Wood, was placed on IR earlier this week, and standout specialist Isaiah Stalbird is unlikely to play.

The bigger names are Chris Olave, Chase Young, and Christen Miller. Luckily for them, all are in the mix to be active come game time.

Just as Baltimore's WR1 is dealing with a hamstring injury, so is Saints wideout Chris Olave. Both he and Chase Young were limited on Thursday and Friday, but reports signal the game-changing duo is expected to play.

Miller, however, popped up on the injury report on Friday. It's unknown if he'll be ready to play.

Storylines to watch for Ravens in Week 2

How will the Ravens offense adjust to injuries and weather?

Looking at the state of the roster, the Ravens’ running game should be the backbone of the offense. The pass protection was already in question and might take a bigger hit pending the statuses of John Simpson and Ronnie Stanley. The receiver room has become shallow, too, as Ja’Kobi Lane and Zay Flowers will be out.

Rain is also expected to hit Baltimore throughout the game. If all that doesn’t scream constant Derrick Henry reps, then I don’t know what does. This should also be a chance for Lamar Jackson to return to being the dominant ground threat that helped take the NFL by storm. He showed signs of that in Week 1, and could take another step in Week 2.

Will the offensive line fix up the penalty problems?

While the Ravens offense was nothing short of exciting last week, the offensive line was a Debbie-Downer. Specifically, it was the silly penalties. Every so often, when one of their countless big plays took shape, yellow laundry dropped on the field to deflate that excitement.

Vega Ioane wiped out two first downs due to two holding penalties; Jovaughn Gwyn took a touchdown off the board after he was tagged for holding; even Ronnie Stanley pushed the unit back at times with false start and illegal formation penalties.

That can’t happen again.

Is this secondary for real?

It’s no secret that Baltimore’s secondary dictated the game on their side of the ball against the Indianapolis Colts. Cornerbacks Nate Wiggins and Marlon Humphrey were unbeatable in coverage, and safeties Kyle Hamilton, Malaki Starks, and Jaylinn Hawkins were ALL OVER the field. They’re a bunch of certified playmakers.

That was against the Colts, though. In Week 2, the secondary draws a more talented foe in Chris Olave and a Saints passing attack that generates their fair share of explosive plays. They’ll be tested deep, they’ll be tested in short areas, and even out of the backfield with running backs Travis Etienne and Alvin Kamara, who are reliable pass-catching threats.

With all that to keep an eye on in the passing game, the Ravens secondary needs to turn this 2026 rebound up a notch.

Introducing the Jesse Minter era to the home crowd

3-6. That was Baltimore’s record at home in 2025. It was among the most disappointing aspects of last year’s campaign, and is something Jesse Minter and his new coaching staff will be looking to fix.

It starts against the Saints. Jesse Minter has his defense operating at a very high level, Declan Doyle’s offense has everything you could want, and Anthony Weaver’s leadership is having a huge impact on the product on the field. You throw a rowdy M&T Bank Stadium into the mix, and you could have the perfect recipe for success.
