The Baltimore Ravens have plenty of work to do in the offseason. Their 2025 campaign ended sooner than they would’ve liked, as they lost a winner-takes-all battle against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 18.
In a year where they were one of the top Super Bowl contenders, an 8-9 finish is a far cry from where fans expected this team to be. Improvements are needed everywhere. Whether it’s the coaching staff or players, something needs to give if the Ravens want to become a legitimate threat in 2026.
There should be big things ahead in the coming months, but for now, General Manager Eric DeCosta is checking off some minor roster changes.
On Monday, the team reported that they signed eight players to reserve/future contracts.
Ravens sign eight players to reserve/future contracts
Here are the eight players with whom Baltimore agreed to contracts:
- OT Gerad Christian-Lichtenhan
- WR Cornelius Johnson
- DT David Olajiga
- CB Amani Oruwariye
- G Jared Penning
- CB Marquise Robinson
- OLB Kaimon Rucker
- FB Lucas Scott
Each of these players spent nearly the entire season on the practice squad. The only player who appeared in regular-season action was cornerback Amani Oruwariye, who was signed in early October and suited up in Week 12. He only got special teams reps in that contest. The 29-year-old does have valuable NFL experience, though, which could prove beneficial as a depth piece in the corner room.
A few of the others were preseason standouts.
Offensively, fullback Lucas Scott could be the heir apparent to six-time Pro Bowl fullback Patrick Ricard a few years down the line. Offensive tackle Gerad Christian-Lichtenhan is also an intriguing young player standing at 6-foot-8.
On defense, outside linebacker Kaimon Rucker flashed his preseason action with six pressures and one sack. Cornerback Marquise Robinson almost made the roster cut, showing out as a special teams player and a playmaker in the secondary.
None of the names jump off the page, but in a game where depth is crucial, the returnees could play a factor next season. For the younger guys listed, they got another chance in Baltimore, as the coaching staff clearly sees something in their development. They could get another crack at the 53-man roster next year, should they make it to that point.
