Chuck Pagano is barely a week into his second stint with the Baltimore Ravens, and he’s already setting his sights on adding another game-changing player to the mix. And not just any player—we’re talking about the Defensive Player of the Year.
With Myles Garrett officially requesting a trade from the Cleveland Browns, the NFL world is going crazy trying to figure out where he might land. The Browns aren’t exactly in the business of making smart decisions, but even they probably wouldn’t be reckless enough to ship their best player to a division rival. That hasn’t stopped people inside the Ravens organization from dreaming about what could be. And Pagano? He’s right there leading the charge.
The former Ravens defensive coordinator saw a clip from The Pat McAfee Show discussing possible destinations for Garrett and wasted no time dropping a subtle, yet very obvious hint—an emoji of a Raven. Simple. Effective. And loud enough for Ravens fans to run wild with the idea.

Chuck Pagano wants Myles Garrett in Baltimore
Look, no one is pretending this is likely. The idea of the Browns handing Garrett over to Baltimore feels about as possible as the Browns being Super Bowl contenders. But in a world where we’ve seen crazier things happen (Luka Doncic just got traded midseason for crying out loud), it’s at least worth entertaining the thought.
And Pagano? He knows exactly what a player like Garrett would do for this defense. The Ravens had one of the best pass-rushing units in the league last season, but they did it by committee. They had 54 sacks, second-most in the NFL, but they didn’t have a true game-wrecker. Kyle Van Noy led the team with 12.5 sacks, but he’s turning 34. Odafe Oweh finally hit double digits, but he’s still developing. Garrett would instantly be the guy—the player offensive coordinators have to plan around every single snap.
Let’s not forget, Pagano has coached some elite pass-rushers in his time. Terrell Suggs. Robert Mathis. He knows what a dominant edge presence can do for a defense. And Garrett? He’s on that level, if not better.
Short answer? He's probably not coming. But that’s not stopping guys like Pagano (or Lamar Jackson, for that matter) from stirring the pot. The Browns would be out of their minds to trade Garrett within the AFC North, but if he’s forcing his way out, they might not have much of a choice.
The reported asking price isn’t even that crazy—“a 1 and a 2. 1 and 2 3s. Throw a player in there.” That’s a steep price, but not impossible for a team like Baltimore. The real issue? The Ravens’ cap situation. At around $6 million in space, they’d have to pull off some serious financial magic to make it work.
Still, the fact that people inside the Ravens’ building—even ones who just got here—are openly pushing for Garrett says a lot. If the Browns slip up and make him available? You better believe general manager Eric DeCosta will at least make the call.
