Well, Baltimore Ravens fans, we knew the Diego Pavia journey was going to be a bumpy one and that it was. Pavia's Ravens tenure has officially ended before training camp even got going, as the team waived the Heisman Trophy finalist on Thursday.
This wasn't a huge surprise given how many other quarterbacks the Ravens had on their roster but, given Pavia's name and everything that comes with that, it'll be something everyone talks about for awhile. That's not common for an undrafted quarterback cut from a roster in July but when that guy is a controversial Heisman Trophy finalist, the story changes quite a bit.
As Ravens fans are aware, Pavia was a great player at Vanderbilt, leading the Commodores to heights they hadn't seen in a very long time. Even with all of that success, Pavia went undrafted and the Ravens brought him in to compete for their third-string quarterback job. Sadly for Pavia, he didn't evne make it to training camp.
So, what's next for Pavia? Austen Bundy of FanSided came up with three potential landing spots for the former Vanderbilt quarterback and none of those are with an NFL team.

The three career paths that Bundy listed for Pavia include joining the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League or the St. Louis Battlehawks of the United Football League. The third option is as a "Football Social Media Influencer", which, let's face it, seems like the most realistic option for Pavia and his fiery personality.
That being said, a team in the CFL or UFL could very well be interested in bringing Pavia in because of that personality. He's a character, that's for sure, and while the Ravens weren't interested in the theatrics from a fifth-string guy, a team in a smaller league could be because it'd draw more attention to them.
At the end of the day, Ravens fans aren't surprised to see Pavia on his way out of Baltimore after just a few months. With Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley locked into the QB1 and QB2 spots respectively, Baltimore clearly didn't think Pavia was worth keeping around in the battle for QB3 between Skyler Thompson and Joe Fagnano. That says a lot quite honestly.
We'll have to see what the future holds for Pavia after his brief pitstop in Baltimore. Will he play for another football team or be out of the sport altogether? Either way, the Ravens made the decision that was best for them and no one should blame them for that.
