The Baltimore Ravens brought a huge jolt to their pass rush room this offseason. Additions of Trey Hendrickson and Zion Young checked off the team’s biggest need. As a result, the pass rush room that posted just 30 sacks in 2025 will look very different.
That could include 2024 third-round pick Adisa Isaac departing from Baltimore ahead of the regular season. With all the new talent in, Isaac is in a tight spot. He was already dangerously close to exile, but now he’s got zero room for error.
Isaac didn’t participate in the Ravens’ offseason program, as he was still recovering from an elbow injury that he suffered during last year’s preseason. Unfortunately, with little to show throughout his NFL career thus far, that might put Isaac on the chopping block.
Staff writer for BaltimoreRavens.com, Clifton Brown, talked about Isaac’s difficult situation in a recent article.
"“Training camp and the preseason will be huge for outside linebacker Adisa Isaac, a third-round pick in 2024 who missed OTAs and minicamp while still recovering from an elbow injury. Isaac won't earn a role unless he starts getting reps.”"Clifton Brown
Baltimore Ravens might have an easier decision than expected with Adisa Isaac
It’s really an unfair situation with Adisa Isaac. Injuries have pretty much been a relentless occurrence throughout his tenure in the league, and clearly, he has yet to catch the slightest break. At the end of the day, though, the best ability is availability. If Isaac can’t get on the field come training camp, then Baltimore’s roster decisions could be fairly easy.
Isaac currently slots in as the Ravens’ fifth pass rusher on their depth chart, per ESPN. Trey Hendrickson, Mike Green, Zion Young, and Tavius Robinson are the top four and will not only demand snaps but also significant time on the field. That has Isaac hanging on by a thread as it is. Regardless of what he does in the coming months, it’s fairly likely that he won’t see much playing time at all.
Even worse news might transpire in training camp and preseason if Isaac can’t get the motor running. He not only needs to start getting reps, but also start impressing. We’re entering year three now for the 24-year-old, and he’s only played in four games. Obviously, he’s done little to impress. If he can’t suit back up and hit the ground running, the conversation about him getting waived could become even more realistic than it already is.
The only thing going for Isaac right now is the fact that there isn’t a true competitor for his spot on the depth chart…yet. Kaimon Rucker and Ethan Burke are the two lead options behind Isaac, and while both are just as unproven as Isaac, there's potential there. Rucker made the practice squad last year, and Burke was one of the better undrafted free agents on the market.
Once the pads go on for training camp, Rucker, Burke, or even someone else could start to surpass Isaac, but until then, we simply don’t know what the future could hold. However, one thing’s for certain: Isaac is definitely on the roster bubble.
