The Baltimore Ravens have concluded their coaching search, hiring Jesse Minter to be the team’s next head coach. Minter, who started his NFL coaching career in Baltimore, established himself as a rising star as the Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator the last two seasons. Now, he’ll try to get Baltimore’s defense back to its standard, while leading the entire franchise into a new era.

The biggest question now is who will Minter hire as the team’s offensive coordinator. With Lamar Jackson at quarterback, everyone wants the Ravens to find an elite coordinator that will maximize the generational talent Baltimore has at quarterback. Early reports suggest that the newly hired head coach could turn to one of the candidates who was also up for the Ravens job: Joe Brady.

Joe Brady could join Jesse Minter as Ravens offensive coordinator

Shortly after Minter was announced as Baltimore’s new head coach, NFL insider Tom Pelissero shared that Brady is a potential offensive coordinator candidate for Minter’s staff. He interviewed with Baltimore on Thursday for the head coaching job, and while he didn’t get it, he could still find his way to the Ravens.

Brady also interviewed for the recently opened Buffalo Bills job, the team he served as offensive coordinator for the last two years. He was also the interim OC for Buffalo back in 2023, and spent two years as the Bills quarterbacks coach as well. Prior to joining the Bills, Brady was the offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers in 2020 and 2021.

While Buffalo underwhelmed by not reaching a Super Bowl the last few years, Brady impressed as an offensive coordinator with the work he did with Josh Allen and James Cook. With Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry already in place in Baltimore, Brady could be set up for instant offensive success.

That would give the Ravens an elite offense, and hopefully an elite defense under Jesse Minter. With those two units rolling, and a competent special teams, the Ravens will be contenders again. Ultimately, it remains to be seen who will be Baltimore’s offensive coordinator. Kliff Kingsbury, who also interviewed for the team’s head coaching job, was listed as an option as well, so fans will have to wait and see.
