The 2025 campaign has been riddled with injuries for the Baltimore Ravens. After injuries ravaged their team in Week 4 against the Kansas City Chiefs, things went from bad to worse, as Head Coach John Harbaugh confirmed star defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike will miss the rest of the season.
Madubuike was placed on injured reserve on Saturday ahead of the team’s Week 4 matchup with a neck injury. In Harbaugh’s press conference on Monday following the loss, he mentioned Madubuike will not be playing again in 2025.
“Nnamdi [Madubuike] is going to be out for the year,” Harbaugh said. “That’s going to be a year-long IR.”
Harbaugh added that he cannot address too much further on Madubuike's situation, and additional questions would be best answered by him.

Nnamdi Madubuike is out for the season
The Ravens' defense has struggled since the season opener, but the one constant over the first two weeks was Madubuike’s ability to pressure the quarterback and stop the run. Despite missing the past two weeks now, he still leads the team in sacks, tied with Tavius Robinson with two.
He also accounted for seven hurries from the interior in his two starts, which still ranks near the top half of the NFL. Now, he will miss the rest of the campaign, as an already horrendous situation leaves the Ravens' defense searching for even more answers.
Without Madubuike, Baltimore’s run defense has become significantly worse. They allowed 118 on the ground against the Chiefs and gave up 224 rushing yards in Week 3 versus the Detroit Lions. They have young players with potential, but given the extent of Madubuike’s injury, they must grow into their new roles quickly if the Ravens want any shot at the playoffs this year.
Baltimore will hope to see progress from rookie sixth-round selection Aeneas Peebles to bring some pressure from the interior in Madubuike’s absence. They will also need Travis Jones and Broderick Washington to reach another level when they return from injury, and veteran defensive lineman Brent Urban should see a bigger role.
