The Baltimore Ravens revealed that tight end Mark Andrews was questionable to return with a hand injury in the middle of the second quarter against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3.
It was not clear how Andrews got injured. He was on the field for Baltimore’s touchdown drive early in the second quarter, but was nowhere to be found for the team’s fifth drive of the game.
Andrews was heavily targeted in the first half. He has just 1 reception for 9 yards, but his three targets up to this point are tied for the team lead. He was also busy as a blocker, helping create some big lanes for the rushing attack alongside fellow tight end Durham Smythe.
With him absent from the offense, rookies Matthew Hibner and Josh Cuevas are expected to be featured parts of the passing attack. Cuevas actually secured the first reception of his young career, hauling in a pass from Lamar Jackson, taking it upfield for 14 yards, and setting up an eventual Tyler Loop 27-yard field goal.
That helped extend Baltimore’s lead to seven at that point, and they now lead 17-13 at halftime.
The halftime break obviously gives the Ravens some extra time to look over Andrews’ injury. It’s a much-needed break from action, as he’s a huge part of their passing game.
This season, Andrews has 11 receptions for 107 yards. It’s been a good start to the 2026 campaign after a couple of disastrous seasons from a production standpoint. Hopefully this hand injury doesn’t hurt what was becoming an encouraging year for him.
It’s a rough hand dealt to a Ravens’ offense that was already taking some hits. Rookie wideout Ja’Kobi Lane is out for several weeks with a fractured wrist, and WR1 and $140 million man Zay Flowers is expected to be limited against Dallas due to a lingering hamstring injury. Losing Andrews would hurt big-time.
