This might be the perfect pick.

There are a ton of spots the Baltimore Ravens need to address this offseason. It all starts with the coaching staff. After firing 18-year head coach John Harbaugh, they are in search of a new head coach for the fourth time in franchise history. Whoever that guy is, is expected to bring a whole new coaching staff and philosophy with him.

With that in mind, there could be a ton of roster changes in the coming months. The Ravens have a stacked free agency class, and while they’ll obviously look to keep stars like center Tyler Linderbaum, they’re inevitably going to lose some crucial depth.

Regardless of what happens with their pending free agents, though, the weak spots will remain the same: offensive guard and pass rush. With rookie outside linebacker Mike Green already occupying one edge, Baltimore could look to add a more proven pass rusher in free agency or through the trade market. That could open the door for them to address their offensive guard need in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Gordon McGuinness of Pro Football Focus (PFF) recently constructed his latest first-round mock for the 2026 NFL Draft, and with the 14th pick, he has the Ravens selecting offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa from Miami (FL). McGuinness wrote:

“Mauigoa is listed as a tackle, but he would begin his NFL career at guard for the Ravens, where they are unlikely to re-sign right guard Daniel Faalele — who earned a 57.2 overall grade in 2025.”

“Mauigoa is an excellent pass blocker who earned an 85.4 PFF pass blocking grade on true pass sets this past season. He was also no slouch in the run game, earning a PFF run-blocking grade above 74.0 on both gap and zone concepts.”

Ravens get Lamar Jackson much-needed help in latest mock draft

If Baltimore were to address the offensive line early, Mauigoa feels like the perfect option. He has the traits to work really well at guard, and if the Ravens want to part ways with left tackle Ronnie Stanley in 2027 or 2028, the coaching staff could shift Mauigoa back to tackle.

As McGuinness wrote, Mauigoa is one of the best pass blockers in the draft and would immediately help stabilize the pass protection for quarterback Lamar Jackson along the interior. He can also clear the way in the run game with vicious hands and elite strength.

With Jackson and running back Derrick Henry in the backfield, you simply need better from the offensive line, especially from the interior. The duo of Andrew Vorhees and Daniel Faalele at guard was terrible all year. Their struggles were a major reason why Jackson struggled with injuries all season and why Henry was constantly hit behind the line of scrimmage.

With Faalele set to hit free agency, the team already has one replacement in rookie offensive lineman Emery Jones Jr. ready to go. Vorhees could be a strong backup, but he cannot start in 2026. Drafting Mauigoa would be an ideal solution.

The Miami star has been playing his best football in the College Football Playoff and has skyrocketed up many draft boards. If he falls to 14, general manager Eric DeCosta should run that card up to the podium.
