The Baltimore Ravens have fielded perhaps the NFL’s best team heading into the 2025 regular season. They reign as the league’s top offense after a historic 2024 campaign (7,224 yards), and their defense has an abundance of talent. Both units could claim the title as the best in 2025.
They are right in the middle of their Super Bowl window, but that window will not be closing anytime soon. Along with being one of the most competitive teams, they have a ton of young talent. Players like Kyle Hamilton, Zay Flowers, Nate Wiggins, and Tyler Linderbaum are already great, but are still progressing toward their ceilings.
All-Pros Lamar Jackson and Roquan Smith are also just 28 years old. They are right in the middle of their primes, dominating the NFL in 2024. Others like Marlon Humphrey are still at the top of their games, too. They are one of the most well-built rosters, and ESPN confirmed that in their latest rankings.
ESPN writers constructed a power ranking of each NFL team’s future. The Ravens were one of the only two teams to earn a “great” grade. They placed second on the list with a 92.1, falling just behind the Philadelphia Eagles at 92.6.
In the four categories, Baltimore ranked in the top six in each. They scored a 91 for overall roster (second place), 96.8 for quarterback (third place), 89.8 for coaching (sixth place), and 92 for front office (second place).
Ben Solak outlined why Baltimore has all the potential in the world. He wrote:
“A long track record of excellent drafting and an all-world quarterback in Lamar Jackson make the Ravens' future very bright. To boot, they have perhaps the NFL's best defensive player in safety Kyle Hamilton, and that is about as big of a cherry on top a team can have.”
Ravens are built for lasting success
The Ravens continue to outdo themselves each year. 2024 was their best performance in team history on the offensive end, but the defense fell short for much of the year. They did turn it around late, but postseason errors once again doomed them. However, there is every reason to believe 2025 should end differently. Even then, the window is open for years beyond.
There could be a reason for concern following this year, looking at their free agent class next offseason. Jones, Linderbaum, Odafe Oweh, Kyle Van Noy, and others will demand pay days soon, and the team will likely lose some of those stars. The Ravens always successfully reinforce their roster, though.
The revolving door of talent coming through the NFL Draft, like Malaki Starks and Mike Green, should keep them at the top of the league for years to come. Eric DeCosta and the rest of the staff do an outstanding job of roster building, and it should result in a Lombardi Trophy soon.
