The Baltimore Ravens are coming off a huge win over their AFC North division rival, the Cleveland Browns, in Week 11. It was a sloppy win, but their 23-16 victory moves them to 5-5 and extends their winning streak to four games.

Up next, the Ravens are set to square off against the New York Jets. The Jets are struggling to say the least, owning a 2-8 record. Quarterback Justin Fields has had a tough go of it in 2025. His passing troubles have been obvious, as the Jets rank dead last in passing yards this season. On Monday, New York’s coaching staff finally decided to make a quarterback change.

This upcoming Sunday, Baltimore will be facing veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor, an old friend they are very familiar with.

Tyrod Taylor will return to Baltimore in Week 12

After dominating the ACC at Virginia Tech, Taylor was drafted by the Ravens in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He spent four seasons in Charm City backing up quarterback Joe Flacco. He played in 14 contests throughout those four years, completing 19 of 35 passing attempts for 199 yards and two interceptions. He also ran the ball 27 times for 136 yards and one touchdown.

Taylor left Baltimore in the 2015 offseason and took off when he signed with the Buffalo Bills. He made the Pro Bowl that same year, throwing for 20 touchdowns and six interceptions in 14 starts. He also helped Buffalo make the playoffs in 2017, ending the team’s 17-year playoff drought.

Since then, Taylor has bounced around the league as a backup and is praised as one of the best backup quarterbacks in the NFL. He is a capable starter when his time comes, and he will make his second start of the 2025 season in Week 12 against Baltimore.

This year, Taylor has completed 43 of 69 passes for 379 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions. He has added another 80 yards on the ground.

The Ravens have played against Taylor just once across his 15-year career. Taylor returned to M&T Bank Stadium in 2016, and Baltimore won that lone matchup, 13-7. Taylor went 15-for-22 through the air, throwing for 111 yards.

While Head Coach John Harbaugh will certainly be happy to see Taylor back in Baltimore, the mission stays the same. The Ravens will look to extend their winning streak to five games, and if they do, they have a golden opportunity to be sitting in first place in the AFC North by the time Week 12 passes.
