NFL analyst's Lamar Jackson rant will have Ravens fans ready to run through a wall

The Baltimore Ravens have some doubters to prove wrong in 2026. To say the least, all the disrespect that has come out over the past month has been unexpected. Most notably, Lamar Jackson has somehow gone from a surefire top-five quarterback to one ranked outside the top 10 by some.

Whether it was his bogus NFL Top 100 ranking or Colin Cowherd’s absurd decision to leave Jackson outside his top-10 QB list, people are somehow forgetting how lethal the two-time MVP is. It’s shocking.

Thankfully, one prominent analyst came to bat for Lamar Jackson. In a segment on FS1’s First Things First, Chris Broussard unleashed an epic rant that perfectly encapsulates the absurdity of ranking Jackson as the 69th-best player in the NFL, and more so, 10 spots behind Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix.

Broussard hit the nail on the head: it’s embarrassing that players ranked Jackson that low. No disrespect to Bo Nix, Trevor Lawrence, Caleb Williams, or others that’ll place ahead of Jackson, but most of them are not at Jackson’s caliber. It’s not that close either.

In a season where a bum hamstring was holding him back since Week 3, somehow, Jackson’s stats look better than Nix’s in some areas. He held a sturdy edge in both passer rating (103.8 versus 87.8) and yards per attempt (8.4 versus 6.4). Jackson also had the best passer rating in the league on passes 20-plus yards down the field.

Jackson’s numbers from last year also don’t just rival Nix in some capacity; they also keep up with the rest of the NFL. Sure, his counting stats were down, like total yards and touchdowns, but his efficiency remained at the level we’ve all grown accustomed to seeing from Jackson. At the top of that is his 13.3 yards per completion (a league-leading mark).

You can make the case that Jackson’s 6-7 record and lackluster impact as a rusher (for his standard) played a role in his 67-spot fall on the Top 100, but that doesn’t tell the full story. In addition to dealing with injury after injury, the 29-year-old also had one of the worst offensive guard duos playing right in front of him and a receiving corps that lacked much production behind Zay Flowers. And still, somehow, the superhero version of Lamar emerged at times.

If Jackson could do all that in a season where he wasn’t even close to 100 percent, imagine what he’ll be capable of in 2026. He’s back at full health, and although some believe regression is on the way, he has everything he needs to remind everyone of the dangerous MVP candidate that he is. Baltimore's coaching improved, the roster improved, and with better injury luck, he should return to the Lamar Jackson fans can’t take their eyes off of.
