One Ravens veteran is quickly losing his grip on a roster spot

He might not be a Raven for very long.

The Baltimore Ravens delivered massive boosts to their team thanks to a stellar offseason. The defense had the most obvious upgrades, as the unit that was horrific in 2025 now looks like one ready to take names and terrify opposing offenses.

One area where the Ravens were actually good on defense last year was the safety room. That didn’t matter to Eric DeCosta. He added another uber-talented safety in Jaylinn Hawkins, who has been a standout all offseason and looks like the perfect fit for Jesse Minter’s scheme.

Hawkins wasn’t the only veteran addition at safety. The team signed K’Von Wallace in May. Unfortunately for Wallace, he wasn’t able to separate himself in the same way that Hawkins has. And to add insult to injury, 2025 undrafted safety Keondre Jackson has been impossible to ignore.

All that might already have Wallace hanging on by a thread.

K’Von Wallace might already be running out of time with the Baltimore Ravens

When K’Von Wallace was signed, it’s not like he was being guaranteed a spot on the 53-man roster. It was anything but that. To put it softly, Wallace has struggled throughout his career. After being drafted in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles, the 28-year-old was unable to find a home in the City of Brotherly Love.

Since then, Wallace has bounced around with various teams. It’s been a bit of a roller coaster. To put it into perspective, he spent time with the Seattle Seahawks, New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings, and Houston Texans in 2025. He kicked off 2026 with the Ravens, but with the direction the team’s offseason program has gone in, it sounds like he’s going to end up meeting a very familiar fate.

Wallace just hasn’t been able to challenge any of Baltimore’s top safeties.

The versatility between the trio of Kyle Hamilton, Malaki Starks, and Jaylinn Hawkins is simply out of this world, and each of those guys is going to steal the vast majority of reps. Of what might be left available, if anything, Keondre Jackson will almost certainly scoop those up. He’s been earning his stripes this offseason and has undoubtedly lapped Wallace.

There’s not only no leftovers for Wallace in terms of snap count, but it also seems that there's no spot on the active roster. Realistically, he'll be fighting for a soft landing on the practice squad following preseason action. Even that might be a hassle, though, as the Ravens could opt to go with a younger player like undrafted rookie Jahquez Robinson to fill a potential safety need there. That's how it usually goes.

Things look even grimmer for Wallace, given that his one-year, $1.075 million contract has absolutely zero guarantees. The six-year veteran desperately needed to make a strong first impression, and so far, it’s been his safety counterparts that have been stealing the show. Not him. It’s making for a very harsh roster outlook ahead of training camp.
