The Baltimore Ravens were swept by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2025 and missed the playoffs after a heartbreaking Week 18 loss in Pittsburgh. This offseason, they’ve revamped their team to ensure that won’t happen again.

The Steelers have also had a good offseason, arguably better than Baltimore’s. However, there’s one area that the Ravens are definitely better at: quarterback. And even after drafting Drew Allar, it sounds like Pittsburgh is running it back with Aaron Rodgers.

On Thursday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Rodgers is visiting the Steelers, and the plan is for him to suit up for them in 2026.

For a Ravens defense that was embarrassed by Rodgers in 2025. They’ll get their shot at some sweet revenge. After making drastic improvements, this may be exactly what they wanted.

Baltimore Ravens receive great news with Aaron Rodgers’ pending return to Pittsburgh Steelers

If you look at last year's stats, this might not seem like great news. Rodgers carved up the Ravens. In two matchups, he completed over 66% of passes for 578 yards and two touchdowns, paving the way for two wins and an AFC North title for Pittsburgh. The difference will be the pass rush, though.

Rodgers was sacked just twice by Baltimore, and as it was throughout the entirety of the 2025 campaign, their pass rush was very inconsistent. That’s set to change.

The Ravens made a blockbuster move through the signing of Trey Hendrickson in free agency, but they haven’t stopped there. In the 2026 NFL Draft, they drafted Zion Young in the second round, and not long after, they brought back Calais Campbell. Throw in another year of development for Mike Green, and Baltimore’s defensive front looks incredible. Hopefully, Nnamdi Madubuike returns, too.

That’s a lot of talent that Rodgers could have breathing down his neck this upcoming season. He’s also 42 years old. Sure, over the course of his career, he’s been one of the best at evading pressure, but he’s clearly lost a step. That should allow Hendrickson and company to finally get pressure for the Ravens, and actually bring down the quarterback in the backfield.

If the signing does come to fruition as everyone expects, then Baltimore should walk into their Pittsburgh matchups with revenge on their mind. There’s certainly a lot of new talent in Charm City, but it’s also mostly returning talent. The players know how much the rivalry means, and with the quarterback who ended their season last year likely returning to the Steelers, the defense should be playing with a different edge. They need to.
