The Pittsburgh Steelers are still trying to figure out their quarterback situation. For the Baltimore Ravens, every new rumor gets funnier than the last. After cycling through Kenny Pickett, Mitch Trubisky, Mason Rudolph, Russell Wilson, and Justin Fields, it seems like their grand plan for 2025 might just involve... Daniel Jones.
Yes, the same Daniel Jones who got laughed out of New York, cut midseason, and ended up on Minnesota’s practice squad. This is the Steelers' big idea.
According to Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 The Fan, there’s “interest” in Jones inside the Steelers organization, with some believing he’d be a good fit in new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith’s system. A source even said, “[The Steelers] could do a lot worse than Jones.” That’s a real quote. Not exactly the most glowing endorsement, but sure, let’s pretend this makes sense.

Jones' career has been a rollercoaster—mostly downhill. He went 2-8 as a starter last season before getting benched, bringing his career record to 24-44-1. That’s the guy the Steelers are eyeing as a potential solution in a division featuring Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow. Spoiler alert: This will not go well.
The Steelers' QB desperation is comedy gold
Pittsburgh’s quarterback woes have been a never-ending source of entertainment for Ravens fans. Every year, the Steelers cycle through guys who are supposed to be “the answer,” only to watch it blow up in spectacular fashion. Now they’re seriously considering a QB who signed a four-year, $160 million contract with the Giants, only to be dumped before the ink even dried.
There’s this idea floating around that Jones would thrive in Arthur Smith’s offense because he’s “mobile.” Sure, he can run, but mobility doesn’t mean much when you can’t throw the football consistently.
And let’s not forget—this is the same Arthur Smith who just got fired after tanking the Falcons’ offense with a roster that included Drake London, Kyle Pitts, and Bijan Robinson.
Ravens fans should be begging for this move to happen. Jones coming to the AFC North would be a dream scenario. The Steelers, once again, would be rolling out an underwhelming QB and expecting different results. Meanwhile, Baltimore gets to sit back and watch the chaos unfold, knowing they have Lamar Jackson dialed in.
At this point, Pittsburgh’s quarterback strategy looks like it was designed by Ravens fans. If they actually sign Daniel Jones, Baltimore’s path to blowing through the division just got a whole lot easier.
