The Baltimore Ravens faced a very tough day on Tuesday ahead of the NFL roster cuts deadline. Simply put, they had to remove more than 20 players from their training camp roster in order to build a 53-man squad.

Once the dust settled and the Ravens cut those 20+ players, Baltimore had to wait for another 24 hours to see how the waiver wire action unfolded and who was claimed off it, thus losing him forever.

As many as five players present on the 90-man roster of the Ravens through the summer signed deals elsewhere on Wednesday and Thursday, leaving Baltimore ahead of the 2023 season.

Here is the full list of five players lost by the Baltimore Rvaens via free agency following roster cuts earlier this week:

  • Offensive Lineman - Jaylon Thomas (New York Giants)
  • Offensive Lineman - David Sharpe (Carolina Panthers)
  • Inside Linebacker - Kristian Welch (Green Bay Packers)
  • Defensive Tackle - Angelo Blackson (Jacksonville Jaguars)
  • Cornerback - Kyu Kelly (Seattle Seahawks)

Obviously, there is one player in the list above that hurts more than any other player lost in the past few days: fifth-round rookie Kyu Kelly, who the Ravens cut on Tuesday hoping not to lose him... only for them to watch Seattle claim him and snatch the freshman off their organization. Sheesh.

The Ravens also completed some ancillary transactions on Thursday following the two roster-cut days by placing three players on Injury Reserve as well as re-signing three vested veterans while adding a final member to their 16-man practice squad.

Barring a trade or further (and sincerely, unexpected) cuts, the Baltimore Ravens are set when it comes to their Week 1 roster both on the active and practice-squad fronts.

The only thing pending is naming the first official Depth Chart ahead of the matchup against the Houston Texans, which should feature no real surprises.
