Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu: Wins the starting Left Guard job

Aumavae-Laulu was drafted with the 199th pick out of Oregon as a versatile offensive lineman with tackle and guard flexibility.

There have been reports that Aumavae-Laulu was getting first-team reps early on in training camp. This signals that he's certainly in the running for the starting left guard job, which currently has no runaway favorites.

It seems like the LG competition is currently between John Simpson, Aumavae-Laulu, and Ben Cleveland. Ben Cleveland was a 3rd round pick in the 2021 draft but has struggled to make any impact since then and Simpson has started games on and off over the last two seasons with the Raiders.

After the departure of Ben Powers this off-season, the Ravens are hoping one of these three players can fill the void he left and Aumavae-Laulu could be that guy if he performs well to end the preseason.
