Baltimore Ravens edge rusher depth chart: post 2023 NFL draft
The 2023 NFL draft is now over and we will take a look at the Baltimore Ravens depth chart at each position to see where things stand. One interesting position is the edge rusher group. Could they add more at this spot?
Baltimore Ravens edge rusher depth chart: post 2023 NFL draft
1. Odafe Oweh
Odafe Oweh came out on fire as a rookie and fans got really ambitious about what he could bring. However, his second season was a bit of a come-down-to-earth, and now the question is what he can bring in year two. With Jason Pierre-Paul and Justin Houston, unsigned a lot of the pressure to be the lead rusher will be on Oweh.
2. Tyus Bowser
Tyus Bowser fills a valuable role as the SAM linebacker, and makes the Ravens' defense multiple. It will be interesting to see who they have as depth in that role.
3. David Ojabo
The Ravens drafted David Ojabo knowing that he was going to bring little to nothing in his rookie season due to the timing of his injury. Now the team is looking for him to take a step forward, and be that strong depth edge rusher.
4. Tavius Robinson
The Baltimore Ravens drafted Tavius Robinson in round four, but they do not view him as a project. Robinson is already 24 years old, and the team is already talking about him playing a role that is similar to Za'Darius Smith. Those are big shoes, but that is a valuable role, and Robinson is fit for it.
5. Daelin Hayes
If the Ravens did not draft Tavius Robinson, they would be looking at Hayes as a rotational rusher who may be in the mix. Because of depth and special teams, he could keep his job, but even there he will be pushed.
6. Jeremiah Moon
Jeremiah Moon was a UDFA from Florida last season who spent his first year on the practice squad. Now, he will be looking to be the backup SAM.
7. Malik Hamm
Malik Hamm is a rookie UDFA from Louisiana who will be competing for depth snaps at the SAM role as well as on special teams.
8. Kelle Sanders
Kelle Sanders is an edge rusher from UAB. He would profile more as a hand-in-the-dirt rusher and would be depth behind Robinson, whereas Moon and Hamm are more behind Tyus Bowser for the SAM role.
