Baltimore Ravens 2023 roster ranking: No. 90 WR Tarik Black
As we countdown to the NFL season we will be counting down the most valuable players on the Baltimore Ravens roster. This will be looking at which players are the most valuable to the team, speaking solely from the 2023 season.
While it may not be fair because the end of the roster is fluid, every list has to start somewhere, and we will start with the number 90 player.
Baltimore Ravens 2023 roster ranking: No. 90 WR Tarik Black
Tarik Black is entering his third NFL season, and his second season with the Baltimore Ravens. He was a known recruit who went to Michigan, but his career did not take off there. He went undrafted in 2021 and was signed by the Indianapolis Colts.
Black stuck on the practice squad through December, but signed with the New York Jets' active roster. He went to training camp with the Jets in 2022 but was waived again. Still, he stuck around that Practice Squad all season.
With the Ravens making the playoffs and needing depth, Black made the business decision to sign on their practice squad in January. He has been with the team since then.
Tarik Black has a few things going against him. First, he has failed to make the roster in his first two stops, and neither team felt obligated to keep him. Second, this is the toughest depth chart he will have to crack in his career.
He signed with the Ravens well before knowing about Odell Beckham and Zay Flowers. Heck, he will be behind Nelson Agholor and Devin Duvernay too. We are talking about James Proche and Tylan Wallace getting cut, and both were ahead of Black last year.
Even on the low-end, Andy Isabella and Dontay Demus bring more to the table. Of all of the players on the Baltimore Ravens roster, one of the least likely players to make the roster is Tarik Black. That is why he comes in at number 90.
