The Baltimore Ravens needed to do serious work to their wide receiver depth chart after the 2022 season. They certainly did that with a few big signings, and then the drafting of Zay Flowers in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Now that Flowers is in the mix the question is how does the depth chart look?

Baltimore Ravens 2023 Wide Receiver Depth Chart

X - Rashod Bateman

Rashod Bateman remains the X in the offense. To start, he is the biggest wide receiver of the group, and he has more experience on the outside than Zay Flowers. Beyond that, the other two wide receivers can move in and out of the slot based on the formation, and they will want to motion the other two around before the snap. Bateman will be the staple on the outside. The question with him obviously comes down to health.

Z- Odell Beckham

As noted, Beckham is better as a Z because he can move around in and out of the slot. They can motion him pre-snap and also get the ball in his hands with jet sweep actions and things of that nature. Playing Beckham as the Z wide receiver will allow the Baltimore Ravens to improve the run game.

Slot - Zay Flowers

Zay Flowers spent about 40% of his snaps in the slot when he was at college. However, Bateman is in the slot 17% of the time in his NFL career, and Beckham is in the slot just 21% of the time, with a rate of 20% the last time he played with the Rams. So, of the three, Flowers is the clear slot wide receiver. This is probably best for his projection and it gets him eased into the NFL.

4. Nelson Agholor

The best attribute for Agholor is that he can play all three roles on the wide receiver depth chart. Bateman and Beckham have injury questions and Flowers is a rookie, so there could be some hiccups along the way. It is satisfying to know that Agholor can be a band-aid for all three players.

5. Devin Duvernay

The added wide receiver helped push Duvernay back to his role as a gadget player and special teams option. This is probably for the best and allows them to maximize his potential.

6. James Proche

James Proche went from someone on the roster to a complete question mark with recent moves.

7. Tylan Wallace

This may be the end of Tylan Wallace with the Baltimore Ravens as well. The names below him have almost no shot at making the roster when you consider this top seven now locked in. The team will keep five, and maybe six guys, and the top five may all be locked into jobs.

8. Andy Isabella

9. Shemar Bridgers

10. Tarik Black

11. Mike Thomas
