2. Ben Cleveland wins the job and is not a drop off from Ben Powers

A few months ago this would not be a huge shocker, but after the offseason program most would expect Ben Cleveland to start the year on the bench, let alone be a fine replacement for Ben Powers at left guard.

Still, that is before seeing the Ravens try as many other people at left guard as they could. John Harbaugh noted that Daniel Faalele and Sala Amuavue-Laulu will compete with Cleveland to start at left guard. Those two took more snaps than Cleveland at left guard during OTAs.

So, the question is whether Cleveland can hold onto the job. He is probably still the favorite to hold the starting spot, but it is obvious that he has to bring it to earn the role. Still, there is a chance that the added pressure and competition means that he shows up to training camp better than ever, and ready to win the job.

If that is the case, he has always had the physical gifts to be as good or better than Powers. The question has been why Cleveland has not put it together. We will find out if he can do that soon enough.
