Every season is a chance to start new for players, or for others, it is a chance to build off of something that happened last season. If the Baltimore Ravens can get a few players to take that step, they could be in discussion with Super Bowl contenders.

Who are some players that could breakout in 2023, and take the team to the next level?

5. Justin Maduibuike is about to earn his contract with the Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore Ravens fans will tell you that Justin Madubuike already broke out. That is fair, and he has gotten better every year, so this may be his natural progression. However, if he can take that next step in 2023, he will be a household name and a player who gets a big-time extension.

Justin Madubuike had his best year in 2023, but that was still with 5.5 sacks. His advanced stats also showed that while he is a strong run defender, he is still average and even below average in some areas as a pass rusher. If Madubuike wants to get the respect of someone like Calais Campbell, then he needs to become a better pass rusher. If that happens, it will be another breakout for Madubuike.

Speaking of Campbell, it will be massive for Madubuike to step up in his absence. The team is expecting both Madubuike and Broderick Washington to step up to fill the void because the team did not do anything outside of the roster to fill that big of a void on the defense.

So, Baltimore Ravens know Madubuike, but replacing Calais Campbell is another beast. Beyond that, the money that is on the line could show fans and the entire NFL landscape just how good he is.
