The Baltimore Ravens are entering the 2025 season with a ton of returning star power, but the franchise will be counting on some less established players to make developmental leaps as well. One of those players is defensive tackle Travis Jones. Jones is entering his fourth season in the league, all with Baltimore, and he’s coming off his first year as a full-time starter. Now, the team has high expectations for him to take his game to another level.

On Wednesday, head coach John Harbaugh talked about how Jones has been meeting those expectations so far. Speaking with the media after practice, Harbaugh explained that he’s excited for the veteran defensive tackle, as he has had a great camp, in addition to his previous three years with the franchise. If Jones can stay healthy, the head coach believes he’ll have a great season.

Ravens believe Travis Jones will have a breakout season in 2025

Harbaugh made sure to emphasize how Jones sustained a high-ankle sprain last season, and battled through the injury to play all 17 games, recoding 42 tackles, four for a loss, and a sack. If Jones was able to produce like that while injured, the Ravens head coach is excited to see what he can do this year if he stays healthy.

Everyone in the building seems to be excited, as Jones’ training camp performance recently earned him a comparison to franchise legend Haloti Ngata. When Ngata’s name is brought up in Baltimore when discussing defensive tackle play, it carries serious weight. The former Raven made five All-Pro teams and helped Baltimore win a Super Bowl. If Travis Jones can give the team a level of play near that tier, in addition to what the Ravens already have on both sides of the ball, Baltimore could be seeing another Super Bowl.
