Tavius Robinson is out for the season. The Baltimore Ravens lost their most versatile edge defender, who’s played a pivotal role in Jesse Minter’s defense this year.

“Tavius Robinson has had a season-ending injury,” Jesse Minter said. “Not gonna disclose all the details of that, but he’ll miss the rest of the season unfortunately.”

While Minter didn’t specify, Robinson missed all three days of practice this week with a pectoral injury.

Robinson will be tough to replace, and honestly, he’s one of those players you never want to lose. He brings enough juice as a pass rusher and is a stable run defender who can set a mean edge. The 27-year-old has been among their best players this year.

The Ravens find themselves without a key piece who can wear many hats on defense.

Baltimore Ravens lose ultra-reliable defender Tavius Robinson for the season

Tavius Robinson has been one of Jesse Minter’s go-to starters. He averaged around 46 defensive snaps per game in 2026, and his 279 total snaps rank 16th among all NFL edge rushers. His size, strength, and versatility made him an easy plug-and-play guy on nearly every down.

Robinson was also leading the team in sacks before the injury; he was taking major strides in that area. He was up to 3.5 sacks on the year and had 1.5 sacks over the last two games. He was rolling and was truly breaking out as a player you could trust to make plays in his fourth season.

While Robinson has never been a flashy game-changer, he’s grown into a steady player. Unfortunately, Baltimore is forced to confront life without him.

The obvious replacement becomes rookie second-round pick Zion Young. He should see a significant influx of reps from his usual 20-ish per game.

Young isn’t the pass rusher Robinson is — he was never that player in college, and hasn’t looked dangerous off the edge in the NFL. The Missouri product does have some traits akin to Robinson, though.

Most notably, Young’s motor and run-stopping ability is his signature trait. In his final collegiate season, he finished with 16.5 tackles for loss, and that’s flashed signs of translating to the pros. His 69.3 run defense grade ranks 34th at his position, per Pro Football Focus.

Ethan Burke should also see more opportunities. He possesses a similar 6-foot-6 frame to Robinson, and he’s someone who could play at different spots along the defensive front. Burke probably won’t get ample chances, but he’ll have his shot to prove himself.

And with 1 sack and 3 pressures in 40 defensive reps, Burke could quickly force the coaching staff to see him as an actual rotational option.

Still, you’ll be asking a lot from those guys to replace Tavius Robinson. He’s not someone you can replace in an instant, and it’ll certainly cause some initial problems on defense.
