Following Week 17, the Baltimore Ravens’ 2025 season is somehow still alive. They took care of business with a dominant win over the Green Bay Packers on Saturday, 41-24. Then, on Sunday, with every Ravens player and fan watching, the Cleveland Browns did Baltimore a huge favor with a  stunning victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

As it stands, the Ravens have the more favorable odds of making the playoffs, according to NFL.com. Although they are on the outside looking in, they have a 54% chance to take the four-seed. Pittsburgh’s odds sit at 46%.

While most of the spotlight will understandably be shone on running back Derrick Henry’s Week 17 explosion and Cleveland’s upset win, what should not be lost in the chaos is quarterback Tyler Huntley’s heroics.

Tyler Huntley officially rescues Ravens’ season

If you had a dollar for every time Huntley saved Baltimore’s season, you would have two dollars. It’s not much, but it’s weird that it happened twice.

With the team’s back against the wall, Huntley delivered just as he did in Week 8. After starting 1-5 and their 2025 campaign looking like a bust, Huntley helped lead a season-saving defeat of the Chicago Bears. In that game, he completed 77% of his passes, throwing for 186 yards and a touchdown along the way.

The 27-year-old was not a significant factor on Saturday night, but he still did his job. When the running game failed to work, and the offense was put in passing situations, Huntley carved up the Packers’ defense. He completed 80% of passes for 107 yards and a touchdown. He also added 60 yards on the ground on eight attempts.

That one Huntley touchdown also came at the perfect moment. On a third-and-eight at Green Bay’s 10-yard line, Huntley found wide receiver Zay Flowers, who fell into the end zone for a critical score that pretty much put the nail in the coffin. It is moments like those where Huntley helped save Baltimore’s season, and his ability to step in and offer quality backup quarterback play is what makes him a fan favorite.

For now, it is unknown if Huntley will be needed again next week against the Steelers. There has yet to be an update on two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson’s recovery from his back contusion, but if he is unable to play, Huntley has proven he can get the job done if necessary.
