The Baltimore Ravens have taken four defensive players in the NFL Draft; that’s the same number of starters the offense has lost this offseason.

The Baltimore Ravens lack of commit to improving the offense is infuriating. The Ravens have taken four really good players at incredible values. It was hard to argue about Marlon Humphrey because he was a top 10 talent to me. It was hard to argue against Tyus Bowser because he was a another player at a perfect value. After that, the Ravens had no choice but to add to the offense. They didn’t. Instead they drafted Chris Wormley and Tim Williams.

When the Ravens are stubborn about something they take it to an extreme. All offseason long we’ve heard that the offense would be fine. It’s almost like Greg Roman is supposed to be some miracle worker who will get the running game going like never before, and everything will be fine. Well the Ravens still have Marty Mornhinweg calling the shots, no wide receivers and an offensive line missing two starters. Excuse me for thinking there’s enough defense in Baltimore.

The Ravens defense is poised to be great, and that’s a good thing. The AFC North has a ton of offensive superstars and the Ravens have none of them. The Pittsburgh Steelers added JuJu Smith-Schuster who was an absolute steal for them. They already had Antonio Brown, Eli Rogers, Martavis Bryant and Sammie Coats. The Steelers fourth best receiver is just as good if not better than the Ravens number two option. That’s a problem. The Bengals added John Ross and Joe Mixon to their offense that already had A.J. Green and Tyler Eifert. Heck the Browns, have David Njoku and I’m jealous.

The defense is going to be off the charts good. The problem is the offense is set to be abysmal. Joe Flacco has very few weapons that can make a difference. The offensive line is a mess. I’ve only been begging for a wide receiver for the entire offseason. The Ravens offense will most likely be a tough sight to endure. That’s a problem. The Ravens had a top 10 defense and a struggling offense and went 8-8. Has the needle really moved for this team? Good players that they don’t need; that’s what the Ravens got in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
