Backups: DeAngelo Tyson, Carl Davis, Lawrence Guy, Za’Darius Smith, Kapron Lewis-Moore, Brent Urban, Christo Bilukidi.

Tyson graded out as the 35th best 3-4 DE in the NFL last season out of 47 qualifiers, slightly behind Chris Canty (31st).  Entering his fourth season, Tyson has proven to be mediocre at best and provides little upside.  He’s just a depth piece and rotational lineman.

Guy has bounced around the league since being selected by the Packers in the seventh round of the 2011 draft, landing with the Ravens last season after he was claimed off waivers from the Chargers.  Guy appeared in 11 games last season, recording 16 tackles and one pass defensed as a rotational player.

Smith is a 2015 fourth round draft choice who played outside linebacker in college, but projects as an edge setting end in the NFL and a two down run defender.  He has limited athletic ability but a relentless motor.

Lewis-Moore is a 2013 sixth round draft pick of the Ravens who underwent surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon last offseason.  It’s a tough injury to recover from for any player and has ended the careers of many.

Davis, this year’s steal of a third round pick, should work his way into the rotation quickly on sheer talent alone. Not to mention, he’s quite motivated after being “slighted” as a potential first rounder who slid a good ways in the draft.

Urban is a 2014 fourth round selection who also suffered a year ending injury prior to the 2014 season after tearing his ACL.  He figures to be healthy coming into camp and ready to battle for snaps.

Bilukidi was a sixth round draft pick of the Raiders in 2012 before the Ravens scooped him up following his release by the Bengals at final cuts in 2014.  Bilukidi went on to play only 47 snaps on defense as a deep rotational player in 2014.
