Today marks the beginning of the Baltimore Ravens’ preseason, a time when we finally get to see how the team’s hard work this offseason is going to pay off.  Well, at least we get to see some of it.  Despite the inevitable vanilla playcalling and the limited snaps for starters, it’s still worth watching.

For those on the preseason roster bubble, this is a critical time.  Especially for those approaching their 4th and 5th seasons in the NFL, because they are easily replaced with cheaper, younger talent if they don’t perform any better.

One guy who probably doesn’t have to worry about his roster spot is backup quarterback Matt Schaub, who has been an interception machine so far this offseason.  Schaub recently defended his poor performance, and the coaching staff is standing behind him.  For now.

Lardarius Webb’s hamstring injury turned out to be a non-problem, thankfully, and he returned to the practice field Tuesday.
