2. A Huge Opportunity For Other Guys:

The Ravens have two spots open on their starting defensive line. They have parted ways with Jernigan after already losing Lawrence Guy to the New England Patriots. Carl Davis and Bronson Kaufusi are the two front runners to fill these spots. Even if these two guys work as replacements, there is now more reps for players like Brent Urban and Willie Henry.

Carl Davis is huge. He’s a 6’5″ 325 pound immovable object. He spent the last season on injured reserve but 2017 is a brand new year. Davis has incredible potential because he has the things that you can’t coach. He has bulkiness, length and explosive ability. He was a machine with the Iowa Hawkeyes. In his senior season he had 9.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage and two sacks. Davis now has a chance to shine.

Bronson Kaufusi is another player who spent 2016 on injured reserve. He got hurt quickly into training camp. It’s a shame too, because he would have been a beast in his rookie season. At BYU was unbelievably productive. In four seasons he totaled 43.5 tackles for a loss and 25.5 sacks. He’s a 6’7″ freak of nature and he’s going to be a pleasant surprise to a lot of Ravens fans.
