4. Mike Wallace

When the 2016 Ravens had a big play, more often than not it came from Mike Wallace. He averaged over 14 yards per reception and he led the team in yards per game. Wallace had four plays that went over 50 yards. The most electrifying play came against the Steelers in Baltimore. Wallace caught a short pass and went 95 yards to the end zone.

Wallace isn’t a true number one receiver. He’s a speed guy though, and speed gets fans on their feet. He’s a good piece to the puzzle and he can have a game changing play at any time. The problem the Ravens face is, that the opponent knows that. Defenses are going to play Wallace’s speed with a lot of respect unless other receivers can change the circumstances.

This is another reason the Ravens need the run game to get going. Imagine how much more viable the deep pace to Wallace would be, if the play-action pass was something the Ravens could sell. Wallace is a player the Ravens need to shine.
