Keep the foot on the gas pedal:

The goal of a football team shouldn’t be to win a toss up of a game. The purple and black have to go into each game wanting to blow the opponent out of the water. My previous point was that the Ravens need to go into games with a quality mindset consistently. The point I want to make now, is that the Ravens need to keep the foot on the gas pedal all game long. A win is a win, but a blowout is much easier on the blood pressure of the fans.

More from Ebony Bird

This means that if aggressive defense gets the lead, Dean Pees can’t go soft on us. He’s got to keep sending blitzes, stunts and a laundry list of coverage schemes. This means that if they’re in a four minute offense, they don’t give the ball back to the opponent. We move the chains and run out the clock. This means that we don’t get conservative when we get a lead. This means we don’t stop trying with a lead. Nothing should change when things are going well, because the team’s effort is why things are going well in the first place.

How many games in the Harbaugh era could have been easy wins, but went down to the wire? How many times have the Ravens had a lead and given it up by playing a completely different game. This is just a mindset. Keep the foot on the gas pedal, show no mercy and obliterate the competition.
