2. Danny Woodhead has been banged up:

Danny Woodhead is one of the most experienced and accomplished third down backs in the league. The problem is that the Ravens haven’t seen Woodhead do much in camp because of injuries. Woodhead’s status for week one is up in the air and he figures to be a critical part of the team’s attack. Mizzell has much less experience but he is capable of being a fill in for the former Chargers running back.

Mizzell fits the mold perfectly. He is an undersized running back who can line up as a slot receiver just as comfortably as in the backfield. The touchdown pass he caught against the Bills may have been against backups, but it was a thing of beauty.

His route knifed right through the open window and he came up with a highlight reel kind of play. Mizzell could be the next Woodhead in the NFL.

Could he be the next Danny Woodhead?

Woodhead was an undrafted free agent out of Chardon State College, which I’m guessing is a place you’ve never heard of.

Mizzell fits right into the offense. West and Allen are the in between the tackle running backs. Mizzell can stand in for Woodhead in the passing game, plus he’s another weapon. It’s worth noting that he did have a 16 yard run this preseason. He may not be an every down back that you pound the rock in the tackle box with, but he can fish around for the occasional big run (see what I did there?) All cheesiness aside Mizzell can contribute to an offense that needs all the help it can get.
